Annual Fulbright Awards Dinner

This special event is dedicated to Senator J. William Fulbright's vision of fostering mutual understanding among people of all nations through educational exchange. Each year, One To World recognizes outstanding individuals who have contributed to international education and exchange in their professional and personal endeavors.

$50 allows an international student or scholar to spend a weekend with a family in Mountain Lakes, NJ, sharing traditions and discovering a different side of American life.

$100 brings 20 students together to sample diverse ethnic food and traditions through One To World’s monthly Cultural Cuisine series.

$250 buys supplies for international students to prepare and distribute 180 meals through our Help the Hungry & Homeless volunteer program.

$500 brings 30 international students into New Yorkers’ homes to share a meal and exchange ideas through One To World’s Dinner Diplomat program.

$1,000 enables 30 international students to spend a weekend discovering the history and diversity of Bushwick, Brooklyn with local host families.

$2,500 sends 40 students to Lancaster, Pennsylvania for four days to spend Thanksgiving weekend with local host families, building bonds that last a lifetime.

$4,000 funds a delegation of international students to the Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference in Annapolis or the Student Conference on U.S. Affairs at West Point.

$50 helps bring the world to low-income K-12 students through our Global Classroom program, which trains international students and Fulbright Scholars to lead workshops on their countries and cultures in NYC public schools.

$100 provides an entire grade-school class with “Passport” workbooks to track their journeys around the world through Global Classroom.

$250 supplies materials for Global Classroom’s World Arts and Culture unit, where students learn about art forms from around the world and the rich histories and traditions that produced them.

$500 trains 40 international students and Fulbright Scholars to become Global Guides and lead workshops in New York City public schools.

$1,000 supports a unit on Sustainability, where students investigate how the use of resources impacts our own communities and others around the world, through first-hand accounts from Global Guides.

$2,500 helps sponsor a Teen World program series on preventing bullying and promoting respect to a high school class.

$5,000 brings a Global Classroom workshop series to a school that could not otherwise afford it.
